Katherine ("Kibby") is a postdoctoral associate at Duke University, working with Dr. Zach Rosenthal in the Cognitive Behavioral Research and Therapy Program and Center for Misophonia and Emotion Regulation. She completed her Ph.D. at Duke University and her predoctoral clinical psychology internship at Weill Cornell/NY Presbyterian Hospital.
She is interested in the science and practice of treating emotional and relational problems. In her clinical work, she uses cognitive behavioral therapy approaches to treat adults with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, misophonia, and personality disorders. Her mission is to help make mental health services more accessible to the public, such as through developing new digital interventions or communicating insights from clinical science through podcasts. |
Her research addresses such questions as:
1. Can learning how to manage difficult emotions improve our relationships and social skills?
2. How can we predict and prevent chronic interpersonal issues, such as personality disorders or intimate partner violence?
3. How can we leverage technology to improve or complement traditional mental health treatments?
